BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A singer from Bethlehem has been announced as one of the opening acts at Musikfest.
Lilly Moss is performing, along with Blake Proehl, July 31 at the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza, ArtsQuest said in a news release.
Moss writes country songs. She is a childhood cancer survivor who turns real-life experience into songs that feel personal and powerful and deeply human, ArtsQuest says.
Songs include her singles “Death of Me” and “Somebody Should.”
ArtsQuest says Blake Proehl was a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings before a career-ending injury during his rookie season led him to pursue music.
A video of Proehl singing for his grandmother went viral on TikTok, earning tens of millions of views and launching appearances on American Idol, according to the news release.
This year’s opening acts span different genres, including country, alternative rock, hip-hop, indie pop and soul, as well as genre-blending artists.
ArtsQuest says the performers join previously announced opening acts St. Lucia, George Pippen and Puddles Pity Party
