(WJET/WFXP) — An annual fundraiser benefitting a Presque Isle fixture is returning this summer.

Lake Erie Lights will host “Motown Night at the Light” on Saturday, August 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The evening will feature live music from The Groove, hors d’oeuvres from Cali’s West, desserts from Smiley’s Ice Cream Truck as well as a raffle and auction.

Guests are encouraged to dress for a night of dancing to 1960s and ’70s Motown hits.

Lake Erie Lights hosts a summer fundraiser annually to support the organization’s preservation and educational efforts.

This year, the funds raised will support preservation work at the Erie Harbor Pierhead Light. Approximately $500,000 is needed to fully restore and preserve the historic channel marker.

Tickets are $75 for members and $95 for non-members. Other ticket options are available to provide more support for the restoration efforts.

The purchase of a ticket also includes two alcoholic drink tickets. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

 Multicultural Community Resource Center receives grant for new program 

The event will be held rain or shine at the Presque Isle Lighthouse at Leslie Beach. Tickets can be purchased at the Presque Isle Lighthouse Gift Shop or online by visiting their website here.
