Lehigh Valley International Airport processed 105,081 passengers in June, marking the highest monthly traffic level in the airport’s history and a 5.12% increase from the previous year, the airport announced in a news release.
The record-breaking figure comes as summer travel season gains momentum at ABE, traditionally the busiest time of year for the airport. Last June, the facility handled 99,966 passengers.
“Beyond convenience and a first-class customer experience, there are many factors contributing to this record number of passengers,” Thomas R. Stoudt, executive director of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority, said in the news release. “Additional connections to Chicago, more seat capacity with the implementation of larger aircraft, and the ability to land in your favorite leisure destinations has made ABE an attractive option.”
Passenger traffic varied across carriers. American Airlines saw the largest jump at 32.5%, while Delta Airlines increased 10.5% and Allegiant grew 1.9%. United Airlines declined 19% compared to last June.
The airport also handled 25,977,394 pounds of air cargo last month, a 12.1% increase from the 23,172,476 pounds processed in June 2025.
Airport officials remind summer travelers that Real ID-compliant identification is required for air travel, though TSA does not require identification for children under 18 traveling within the U.S. Travelers should allow extra time for parking, check-in and security screening. Airline ticket counters typically open two hours before scheduled departures, and check-in for passengers with baggage generally closes 30 to 45 minutes before departure.
