OBITUARY

Dora A. Capozza, 96, of West Scranton, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026, at home.

Born and raised in Scranton, she was the daughter of immigrants Vito and Concetta (Bilotti) Capozza. She graduated from West Scranton High School and went on to build a successful career as a Traffic Manager at Haddon Craftsmen, where she worked with dedication until her retirement. Dora was a faithful member of St. Lucy’s Parish until its closing.

She is survived by nieces Lisa Jones and husband, Ron, Michele Clifford and husband, Rich, Judi O’Borski and husband, Joseph, Linda Veno and husband, Gene, Connie Capozza and husband, Allen Hetkowski, Janet Pritchyk and husband, Dave and nephew PJ Capozza and wife, Mary and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Capozza; brothers, Peter, John, Phillip, James, and Vito Capozza.

Thanks to the extraordinary care and unwavering support of caregivers who became like family, Dora was able to remain comfortably in her home, surrounded by the place she loved most.

Our family extends our deepest gratitude to Pam, Mar, Carly, and Jenn for your compassion, kindness, and dedicated care. Your love and support meant more than words can express.

We would also like to sincerely thank T.J. and the entire staff at AccentCare, as well as Dr. John Diakiw and Sara, for your exceptional care, professionalism, and compassion throughout Dora’s journey. Your support and dedication will always be remembered with heartfelt appreciation.

A special and heartfelt thank you to her nephew, Rich Clifford, whose unwavering dedication to Doras care allowed them to share an extraordinary and unbreakable bond. His love, compassion, and steadfast support brought her comfort and enriched her life in countless ways.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
