FORKS TWP., Pa. – A popular fast-casual restaurant chain known for its made-to-order tacos, burritos, quesadillas and other Mexican eats is expanding its footprint in the region.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, with more than 4,100 locations worldwide, is planning to open a new location at 1900 Sullivan Trail in Forks Township.
Construction on the Forks location has ramped up in recent months, and exterior signage was recently installed.

An exact opening date has not yet been determined, but the Forks restaurant is scheduled to open “before the end of the year,” a Chipotle spokesperson told 69 News.
In 2021, Bethlehem-based developer Posh Properties No. 46 Hanson LLC was granted conditional use approval to the construct the new Chipotle restaurant – with a drive-thru for pick-up orders – by the Forks Township Board of Supervisors.
The new restaurant will open alongside other new construction projects, including forthcoming locations of Members 1st Federal Credit Union and The Learning Experience, with the latter offering children’s preschool and daycare programs.
The new Members 1st location is expected to open in late 2026, while the new location of The Learning Experience is expected to open in early 2027, representatives told 69 News.
Chipotle serves “responsibly sourced, classically-cooked, real food with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives,” according to a business description.
The chain’s menu showcases made-to-order tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, salads and more.
Individuals can customize their selections by picking their protein, such as chicken, steak, barbacoa, carnitas or sofritas (plant-based protein), as well as other ingredients such as white rice, brown rice, pinto beans, black beans, fajita veggies, lettuce, cheese, queso blanco, guacamole, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa and sour cream.

Additionally, the first Chipotle restaurant in Mexico opened earlier this month in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, part of the Monterrey metropolitan area, in partnership with Alsea, a leading restaurant operator in Latin America and Europe.
“Building on this market entry, Chipotle and Alsea plan to open additional restaurants in Nuevo León later this year and expand into Mexico City in 2027,” a news release states.
Chipotle currently operates more than 4,100 restaurants worldwide and expects to open between 350 and 370 new restaurants in 2026 as it continues to execute its “Recipe for Growth” strategy, including a target of operating 7,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
In Pennsylvania, Chipotle operates more than 150 locations, including about two dozen other regional locations in Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks and Montgomery counties.
