Driver in critical condition following crash in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — A crash in Pittsburgh left a driver seriously hurt Thursday.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, first responders were called to the 3900 block of Evergreen Road around 1:30 p.m.

Preliminary information shows a woman was driving when her vehicle crossed the center line and hit a utility pole.

Medics rescued the woman, who was trapped inside the vehicle.

She suffered a “serious head injury” and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, officials say.

Our crews on scene saw a sedan with heavy damage.

Evergreen Road was closed in the area following the crash but has since reopened.
