Republican nominee for Governor Stacy Garrity continued her statewide campaign tour with a stop in Erie on Friday, meeting with local voters and party supporters during a meet-and-greet at Erie County GOP headquarters.
During the event, Garrity discussed her vision for Pennsylvania and outlined priorities she says would strengthen the state’s economy, improve educational opportunities, and create a better future for residents of all ages.
Garrity said her campaign is focused on policies that benefit both young people entering the workforce and seniors living throughout the Commonwealth. She also emphasized the need to improve Pennsylvania’s public school system and expand economic opportunities to encourage residents to stay in the state.
The Republican nominee pointed to economic challenges facing Pennsylvania, noting that the state ranks near the bottom nationally in several economic measures and continues to see residents leave in search of better employment opportunities elsewhere.
To address those concerns, Garrity said she supports expanding energy production by reopening Pennsylvania oil wells. She argues that increased domestic energy development would generate new jobs, boost state revenue, and strengthen local economies across the Commonwealth.
Erie County was one of many stops on Garrity’s statewide campaign tour. She said connecting directly with voters in every corner of Pennsylvania is a key part of her campaign strategy.
Garrity is traveling to all 67 Pennsylvania counties ahead of the November election. Following her Erie visit, campaign stops are scheduled in Clearfield, Shippensburg, and York.
Pennsylvania voters will head to the polls on November 3, to choose the state’s next governor.
