ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 27-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Northampton County on Friday afternoon, according to state police. 

Police say that at approximately 1:48 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Old Gate Road in Allen Township for the report of a domestic incident at a residence. 

Upon arrival, it was determine that a 27-year-old man was shot by a 25-year-old man, who fled the scene in a 2023 orange Kia Forte, according to a news release. 

Troopers observed the Kia in the vicinity of Race Street and Airport Road in Hanover Township, and upon activating the lights and siren of the marked patrol vehicle, the Kia fled from police, officials said. 

Troopers continued to pursue the Kia and the Kia eventually returned to the crime scene where he was taken into custody without incident, authorities said. 

The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m., according to police. 

Police say that criminal charges against the alleged shooter are pending. 

This case is being investigated by state police, and assisted by Northampton County District Attorney’s Office, Northampton Regional EMS, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Troop M Collison Analysis Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R.S.), Troop M Bethlehem and Belfast Patrol Unit.
