A tasting room will soon reopen as a renovated venue with expanded offerings in the Lehigh Valley.
The Rail Yard announced a limited sneak peek for drink service noon to 5 p.m. July 25 at 518 Bank St. in Emmaus, co-owner and CEO Rob Johnson said, ahead of its grand reopening on Sept. 13. Those dates will coincide with the Emmaus 250 celebration and Philadelphia Eagles regular season opening day, respectively.
The business closed in late March for renovations such as custom-built bars; a new game area for pool, pinball machines and arcade machines; and a new dining area using the space where a Weyerbacher Brewing Co. taproom closed earlier this year.
The tasting room was for Triple Sun Spirits Co., which will rebrand to The Rail Yard.
“It was primarily a designation of the concept that we offer more than just Triple Sun product,” said Johnson, who co-owns the business with Dave McAdoo and Kris Kwant.
Including with outside partnerships, the offerings will include spirits, ciders, beer, wine, ready-to-drink cocktails, bottles for purchase, a rotating menu of Southern-inspired comfort food, and events like trivia and live music, Johnson and McAdoo said.
“It’s a venue for us to highlight and promote other local products as well as our own,” Johnson said. “It’s a community venue.”
“It’s still occupying the same space and footprint that it always has been, but now expanding the portfolio to include a variety of other products — both products that we co-pack and additional products that we have in our own portfolio,” Kwant said. “It gives a good opportunity for us to kind of package that all together in the rebrand. The Rail Yard makes sense too because it’s right along the tracks.”
Johnson said they’re planning to open with the hours of 4-9 p.m. Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, expanding those hours to Wednesday through Sunday by the spring.
