Lehigh County voters have picked a new judge to serve on the Court of Common Pleas.

Democrat Mark Stanziola, an Allentown-based attorney, defeated Republican Patricia Fuentes Mulqueen, chief of prosecutions in the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, in Tuesday’s election, according to unofficial results from Lehigh County.

Stanziola garnered more than 59% of the vote with 55,142 votes to Mulqueen’s 38,216 votes, the unofficial results show as of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Results are unofficial until certified. Approaching midnight Tuesday, Lehigh County was reporting partial results from Election Day votes across all precincts, in addition to partial mail-in ballots and provisional ballots.

Armchair Lehigh Valley previously quoted Stanziola as saying his legal experience and community service have given him a depth and breadth of legal knowledge, insight and expertise.

The online publication reported “he is an attorney with the Allentown law firm Fitzpatrick Lentz and Bubba, concentrating on family law, including divorce, custody, adoption and support. Over his nearly 38-year law career, he has also worked on criminal cases, landlord/tenant disputes, personal injury and other litigation.”
