Democrat Daria Devlin has been elected as Erie’s next mayor, defeating Republican nominee Matthew Thomas in the general election.

Devlin, a lifelong Erie resident, ran on a platform centered around addressing the city’s housing crisis, improving financial stability and investing in youth.

In her victory speech, Devlin said she plans to lead with “experience, vision and heart,” saying collaboration and transparency are the key to Erie’s future.

Devlin has more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership.

She will officially take office Jan. 5, 2026, and is expected to announce her transition team in the coming weeks.
