Philip M. Dunio
OBITUARY
Philip M. Dunio, 86, passed away surrounded by his family, at home on July 5, 2026.
Born on April 20, 1940, in Dunmore, PA. Phil will be remembered for his kind heart, loyalty, strength and thoughtfulness. Naturally reserved, those who knew him well appreciated his patience, gentleness, and sense of humor.
Phil was a devout Christian who found joy in the simple things and lived a life marked by steadfast love and devotion to his family. He was a former athlete and a lifelong baseball enthusiast.
He found the love of his life, Donna K. Dunio. They shared sixty wonderful years of marriage, an example of commitment and unconditional love.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Paul J. Dunio and Margaret Petritus Dunio, and his dear sister, Florence M. Dunio.
Phil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna K. Dunio, who resides in Loganville, GA; his son, Paul B. Dunio, and daughter-in-law, Anita Dunio, who reside in Monroe, GA; and his daughter, Cumie C. Dunio, son-in-law, Alex Amengual, and grandson, Kai Arrow Amengual Dunio, who reside in Spain. He is also lovingly remembered by extended family and friends.
Phil spent the first part of his life in Scranton, PA, and over 30 years in Sarasota, FL, before moving to Georgia in 2025 to be closer to his son and daughter-in-law.
Phil was an honor graduate of the University of Scranton. One of his greatest joys was inspiring and teaching high school kids.
A private gathering with family will share memories, honor Phil’s life, and celebrate the love that continues to bind them together.
Phil was proud to serve his country in the US Navy, and his ashes will be interred at the GA National Cemetery.
Phil will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and love.
