Host Gateway scored six runs in the first inning on the way to a 9-1 victory over the Crushers on July 26 in Sauget, Ill.
Alex Garbrick (0-3) made his third start for Lake Erie and gave up all six runs in the first, including a three-run home run.
The Grizzlies added three runs in the fourth inning to make it 9-0.
The Crushers (28-38) scored their run in the eighth inning when third baseman Pavin Parks hit a home run to right field. Parks has 14 homers this season, tied for fifth in the Frontier League. He also has 49 RBI.
The Crushers had six hits total, all by different players. Right fielder Garret Pike had a double, his 10th of the season.
Position players Jacob Tobias and Samuel Benjamin each pitched one inning for Lake Erie. Benjamin recorded a strikeout, the first by a Lake Erie position player this season.
After winning the first game of the series, 8-5, Lake Erie was shut out in the second game before managing one run on July 26.
The Crushers are 2-4 through the first week of their 12-game, two-week road trip. They have a travel day July 27 before beginning a three-game series against the Jackals on July 28 in New Jersey.
