Violations: Observed boxes of food stored directly on the floor in the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer areas, rather than 6 inches off the floor as required. Food facility is not using an approved detergent-sanitizer in both compartments of the two-compartment manual warewashing equipment used for the dairy equipment. Facility shall use one sink to wash and rinse and the second sink to sanitize until the correct sanitizer can be purchased.

•Booyah! Burgers and Bites, 715 State St., Ste. A, South Abington Twp. Most recent inspection: July 8. Inspection type: regular. Violations: Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available or readily accessible in two refrigerators. Thermometers were placed in the units at the time of this inspection.

•Camp Comanche, 1557 Heart Lake Road, Scott Twp. Most recent inspection: July 13. Inspection type: regular. Violations: Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate chlorine sanitizer concentration. Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low-temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. It was determined that the sanitizer line was cracked. Facility will use disposables for service and wash pans and utensils in the ware wash machine and then sanitize in the sink until the line can be replaced.

•Cold Stone Creamery, 3 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic. Most recent inspection: July 14. Inspection type: complaint. Violations: Ceiling fans in the customer areas are dusty and in need of cleaning.

•Covington Fire Company TFS 3, 452 Daleville Highway, Covington Twp. Most recent inspection: July 7. Inspection type: regular. Violations: Steak and cheese stand, peppers holding at 121 degrees on the grill, a grate was placed under the pan. The grate was removed and the peppers reheated to 194 degrees. Food facility hot water heater is not producing enough hot water to supply hand wash sink through the day. A new heating element is being installed.

•Gio’s Pizza Co., 100 Old Lackawanna Trail, Clarks Summit. Most recent inspection: June 18. Inspection type: regular. Violations: Nonfood contact surfaces (the sides of the fryers, grill and hoods) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. •Microtel Inn and Suites, 232 Main St., Dickson City. Most recent inspection: July 6. Inspection type: complaint. Violations: Soap was not available in the handwash sink. Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink.

•Nonno’s Pizza & Family Restaurant, 6 Radcliffe Drive, Moosic. Most recent inspection: July 9. Inspection type: regular. Violations: Nonfood contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. The light intensity in the food preparation area is not at least 50 foot candles.

•Peanut Bar/Cashew Lounge, 134 Cottage St., Carbondale. Most recent inspection: July 9. Inspection type: regular. Violations: Reduced oxygen packaged ahi tuna and salmon was observed thawing under refrigeration in packaging. Packaging stated to remove product from package prior to thawing under refrigeration. Tuna and salmon were removed from packaging during this inspection.

Violations, out of compliance

•Isabella’s Eatery, 1179 Mount Cobb Road, Jefferson Twp. Most recent inspection: July 13. Inspection type: complaint. Violations: An open employee’s beverage glass was observed on the salad bain-marie cutting board, a food preparation area. The glass was removed. Food employee observed eating in the kitchen. The employee left the kitchen. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible. A sleeve of ground beef observed thawing at room temperature on the kitchen prep table, which is not an approved thawing method. The ground beef was placed in the refrigerator to thaw. There is no person-in-charge in the facility. New staff hired; due to language barrier cook unable to explain cooking procedures and temperatures. Observed wiping cloths in extremely unclean condition on the cookline bain-marie cutting board. The cloth was removed from the cutting board.
