EMMAUS, Pa. — A Lehigh County community traveled back in time Sunday morning to showcase a lost snapshot of its past.
Former Girl Scout Gold Award winners unveiled the “Remember the Youth” time capsule in Emmaus’ Community Park.
It was buried in 1992, and includes contributions from dozens of youth organizations.
Organizers say the capsule was originally supposed to be opened in 2012 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts, but its location was lost over time.
A team from Kutztown University was able to find it using radar technology.
