READING, PA: The 5th annual RIVERZILLA Community Day and park clean-up will occur next weekend at Riverfront Park, says city officials.
This free, family-friendly event combines environmental stewardship with outdoor fun, encouraging the community to come together to protect and enjoy Reading’s natural resources, says the city.
The day will begin with a riverbank clean-up at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers are recommended to wear sturdy shoes that can get wet.
All clean-up supplies and a light lunch will be provided, says city officials.
The city of Reading shared Community Day activities will kick off at 11:00 a.m., featuring free kayaking demonstrations, trail bike loans, watershed education, crafts, food, and outdoor games for all ages.

The event is being held by the City of Reading Public Works Department in collaboration with Schuylkill River Greenways, Keep Reading Beautiful, 18th Wonder Improvement Association, and Take It Outdoors Outfitters.
