(Washington, DC) – The Trump administration is launching a new campaign to connect military veterans with commercial trucking careers.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says the effort will help veterans move quickly into CDL training and licensing programs, including pathways that can use existing military driving experience.

The administration says the campaign is also aimed at strengthening the trucking workforce after thousands of drivers lost licenses under new eligibility and English-language enforcement rules.

Supporters say veterans are a natural fit for high-demand logistics jobs. Critics of the broader crackdown argue the policy has unfairly targeted immigrant drivers and could worsen driver shortages in some regions.
