City Council to vote on parking violations moratorium at ‘dangerous’ Reading intersections | Reading Area

READING, Pa. – At 7 p.m. on Monday, City Council could vote to extend a pause on parking violations at dangerous intersections in Reading.

The council previously put a moratorium in place on North 5th Street at Oley and Douglass streets, and on Hampden Boulevard at Amity, Perry, Richmond, and Robeson streets.

Members of the council say plans to improve the line of sight at the intersections eliminated parking spots and didn’t make things safer.

The council president says she thinks the council would need to see data showing improvements before the moratorium would go away.
