Pennsylvania raises minimum trout harvest size to 9 inches
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is implementing new regulations that raise the minimum harvest size for trout from 7 inches to 9 inches, starting January 1.

Anglers will still be allowed to catch trout smaller than 9 inches, but they will not be permitted to keep them.
The Game Commission said that under the previous 7-inch limit, about 6.5% of sampled brook trout were large enough to keep.
With the new 9-inch limit, less than 1% of sampled brook trout will be eligible for harvest.
