Apparent ‘non-citizen’ was registered to vote in Lancaster County, board of elections says
LANCASTER, Pa. —
A person who was “apparently a non-citizen” was registered to vote in Lancaster County, according to the Lancaster County Board of Elections.

“While completing their annual voter maintenance procedures, the County was notified by the Pennsylvania Department of State that they identified a voter, registered through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Motor Voter Program, who was apparently a non-citizen and should not have been able to register,” a statement from the board of elections said. “Following the initial notification from the Department of State, the County received information on several other voters that may have been improperly registered.”
As of Wednesday, the board said it was aware of five improperly registered voters.

The board said the following measures are being taken:
The Board of Elections canceled each improperly registered voter’s registration and notified the affected individual by letter.Officials reviewed each voter’s record and referred attempted voting cases to the District Attorney’s Office for potential investigation and prosecution.The Elections Office is reviewing all available registration records because of concerns involving the state’s Motor Voter Program.Registrations requiring further scrutiny may be canceled or placed on hold pending documentation.The Elections Office will continue working with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office to review affected voter files.In 2024, the two offices helped uncover and stop a broader voter-registration fraud operation by alerting other Pennsylvania counties and sharing their investigative process.
