(WHTM)– The music competition American Idol got renewed for its 25th season on ABC and Disney+, and the show is looking for contestants from Pennsylvania.

The new season is set to kick off on August 25, 2026, with the return of “Idol Across America,” a live, nationwide virtual search for the next American Idol. According to ABC, the search will take place in all 50 states, giving anyone a chance to audition face-to-face with an American Idol producer.

Audition dates will vary depending on which state participants live in. The VIP Day on August 25 will be open only to the first 250 participants who register.

Pennsylvanians looking to show off their skills can register for “Idol Across America’s” Pennsylvania date on August 27. Registration can be done online.

“Those auditioning will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents face-to-face with an “American Idol” producer, from anywhere in America, across any official audition date for a chance to proceed to the judge auditions,” said ABC in its announcement Wednesday. “Contenders will also be allowed to audition during open-call dates, and auditions will be open worldwide to all those eligible.”

Participants can participate on any date regardless of where they are located, according to ABC. Participants must be 15 years or older.

ABC said that video submissions will be accepted if participants cannot attend their live date.
