The Bucks County Coroner’s Office says a partial skull recovered in Northampton County in 2023 matches the DNA of an unidentified man whose body was found in the Delaware River in Bucks County in 2021.
In March 2023, the top portion of a skull, known as the calvarium, was found along the shoreline of the Delaware River in Easton, according to Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek.
The DNA of that partial skull matches remains recovered from the Delaware River in Bucks County in August 2021, according to officials.
Pa. state police investigating after body found near Delaware River
State troopers responded to the 1800 block of Trails End in Bridgeton Township on Aug. 25, 2021, after a body was found wedged against a dock anchored in the river, according to a news release.
The body was recovered by the Upper Black Eddy Fire Department. State police estimated the remains had been in the water for one to two weeks before being discovered.
The Northampton County Coroner said while the DNA matched, the investigation into the man’s identity, cause, and manner of death remains open and ongoing.
Both coroner offices are collaborating on the investigation, authorities said.
