Gerard P. (Jerry) Spitzer
OBITUARY
Gerard P. (Jerry) Spitzer, 81, of Roaring Brook Township, passed away July 27th.
Born in Scranton’s Southside, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Anne Pitely Spitzer. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Assumption High School and Penn State Worthington Campus, Scranton.
Prior to his retirement Jerry was employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Electronics and the Maverick Missile Program. He was a Marine Corps veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, and Marine Corps League.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Barbara Dawson. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 29th.
He is also survived by his son David Spitzer of Scranton; his daughter Susan Cherundolo, and husband Tom; grandson Brandon of Tobyhanna; nephew Ron Henry of Tampa, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Eulalia’s Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Township, PA with Rev. Thomas Muldowney as celebrant.
Friends may call on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church Street, Moscow, PA.
Interment with military honors will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park – Elmhurst Township, PA
