LeBron James is already making history as a Philadelphia 76er.
The King’s No. 23 jersey with the Sixers broke Fanatics’ record for most jerseys sold in the first 48 hours after a player joins a team in any sport, according to NBC10’s partner, the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The previous record was held by Shohei Ohtani after he joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023, according to the Journal. However, the exact number of jersey sales was not released.
Fanatics has been the e-commerce partner of the NBA since 2015.
James signed a two-year deal with the Sixers last week and said he wants to lead the Sixers, who also have All-Stars Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid, to his fifth NBA Championship.
Charles Barkley joins Dan Patrick to discuss the reverberations of LeBron’s signing with Philadelphia, why he has an issue with James “stacking” teams over the years, and more around The Association.
