A Scranton man was sentenced to six to 20 years behind bars Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to charges of possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse material.

Lackawanna County Judge Andrew Jarbola also sentenced Connor Reap, of 2218 Capouse Ave., to two years probation following his time behind bars and registration as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act for 25 years.

Lackawanna County detectives launched an investigation into Reap’s action in July 2025, after a report made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cyber Tip Line indicated Reap uploaded files of children engaged in prohibited sexual acts to a social media platform.

One cyber tip included five files showing children engaged in a prohibited sexual act, according to the criminal complaint. Another cyber tip included seven files of children under the age of 18.

Investigators served an administrative subpoena to Google, confirming the email address linked to the illicit files belonged to Reap.

Law enforcement officers then executed a search warrant at Reap’s residence and police found him sleeping in the basement of his residence.

During the interview that followed, Reap confirmed his online accounts and email address associated with the cyber tips belonged to him.

He admitted to viewing child sexual abuse material on several social media platforms. He also confessed to selling the material to numerous people as well as purchasing prohibited material on social media, according to the criminal complaint.

On March 17, he pleaded guilty to five counts of possession of child abuse material, five counts of disseminating child sexual abuse images and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
