SOUTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Part of Route 309 is closed in South Whitehall Township on Thursday, and drivers can expect an extended closure.
South Whitehall Township police said that Route 309 is currently closed in both directions between Snowdrift Road and Chapmans Road / Pope Road.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area, seek alternate routes, and to allow extra travel time due to the closure.
Photos from the scene show a pole and wires down across the roadway, with crews and police surrounding it to close off the road.
