A stretch of Route 309 in South Whitehall Township is closed Thursday afternoon.
South Whitehall Township Police posted on their social media channels just before 2 p.m. that the highway would be closed for an “extended” amount of time in both directions between Snowdrift Road and Chapmans/Pope Road.
According to 511PA.com, the closure is due to a downed utility line.
Police urged motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. They were also advised to allow for additional travel time.
