PALMER TWP., NORTHAMPTON CO. (WOLF) — A New Jersey man wanted on a burglary warrant was arrested after police say he was caught prowling around a Palmer Township home late Wednesday night.

Palmer Township Police responded around 11:30 p.m. on July 29 to the 2600 block of Washington Street after receiving a report of a man who had knocked on a home’s front door and was sitting on the porch.

According to police, the man was also seen looking through the home’s windows and attempting to enter a vehicle parked in the driveway before leaving the property.

Officers searched the area and located the suspect walking near the intersection of Gruver Avenue and Park Avenue. He was taken into custody and identified as Thomas Cullis George.

During the investigation, police determined George was wanted on an active burglary warrant issued by the Phillipsburg Police Department in New Jersey.

George was transported to the Palmer Township Police Department for processing before being arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline Taschner Knisely.

He was committed to the Northampton County Prison after bail was set at $5,000 on the Pennsylvania charges and $100,000 on the out-of-state fugitive warrant.

George is charged in Pennsylvania with loitering and prowling at night and related offenses.
