‘The Beatles Candlelight Experience in Pittston’ to include 3 shows on Sept. 18

PITTSTON — A unique concert is coming to St. John the Evangelist Church when Lumos presents “The Beatles Candlelight Experience in Pittston” on Friday, Sept. 18, with three shows.

The concert featuring a string trio will perform songs from The Beatles catalogue will have show times at 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $25 to $70 plus booking fees.

The Lumos franchise hold concerts, many in churches, all over the USA, United Kingdom, and Europe with several troops in service at the same time.

“We choose venues that make every performance feel special,” Imogen Scanes, Lumos marketing and events assistant, said. “Alongside beautiful churches, we also host concerts in historic venues such as castles, manor houses, vineyards, gardens, and other unique locations.”

According to Scanes, churches are particularly well suited to live music thanks to their “stunning architecture and natural acoustics.”

“They’re also found in towns and cities across the country, making it possible for us to bring these experiences to local communities,” Scanes added. “We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy live music in beautiful, historic settings closer to home.”

Each location features a number of candles laid out around the stage and varies depending on the size and layout of the venue. Around 3,000 candles create the signature atmosphere that audiences have come to know and love as well as illuminate performances.

While the St. John’s concert features work from the Beatles, troops have been known to play music from Coldplay, Vivaldi, ABBA, Beyoncé and more.

The Friday, Sept. 18, schedule is as follows:

• 1st sitting: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., doors open: 3:45 p.m.; 2nd sitting: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., doors open 6:00 p.m.; 3rd sitting: 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., doors open 8:00 p.m.

• Seating is first come first serve to your allocated tiered zones (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze)
