A Boyertown-area woman was seriously injured Friday morning when she was struck by a large SUV while walking in Colebrookdale Township, Eastern Berks Regional police said.
Catherine A. Carpenter, 63, of Earl Township was flown by medical helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest after the accident about 8:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Mountain Road, police said.
Police said Carpenter was struck by an SUV driven by a 67-year-old woman from Colebrookdale. The driver, who wasn’t injured, stopped immediately after the accident and called 911.
Boyertown Ambulance, Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue, Earl Township Fire Company responded. State police are assisting Eastern Berks police in the investigation, which is ongoing.
