Daria Devlin had officially been elected to serve as the 49th Mayor of the City of Erie. After defeating Mayor Joe Schember and fellow candidate Sheila Woeger in the Democratic primary, Devlin continued to bring momentum and energy into the general election. A full-force campaign-built community support and shared the message of moving Erie forward with experience, vision, and heart.

Devlin stated after her victory that this was a reminder that Erie can be better for all. With the end of the campaign, it kickstarts the work ahead. According to the future mayor the challenges will be met with patience, courage, compassion and collaboration.

The campaign itself had focused on critical issues concerning Erie’s housing crisis, financial stability, and investing in the youth of Erie. With a goal to build a city government with open communication and transparency.

These priorities energized the community and brought together a coalition of supporters and drove a lot of volunteer involvement and voter turnout.

Mayor-Elect Devlin will begin the transition process and will announce her transition team in the coming weeks as she prepares to take office on January 5, 2026.
