Crushers drop third game in a row, 7-4, to Miners – Morning Journal

The Crushers lost their third game in a row, 7-4, on Aug. 1 at Sussex County.

Just as Lake Erie tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning, the Miners responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to blow the game open.

Alex Garbrick made his fourth start for Lake Erie and gave up all seven runs. He went five innings, struck out three and walked three. Adam Brouwer and Kenny Pierson each had scoreless outings in relief.

Garret Pike had two hits, one run scored and an RBI for the Crushers. Chayton Krauss had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs.

Luis Acevedo had a double, a run scored and an RBI and Pavin Parks hit an RBI double.

The Crushers (29-42) are 3-8 on their two-week, four-city trip, which concludes Aug. 2 at Sussex County.
