Pittsburgh police investigate attempted abduction of 15-year-old at gas station
PITTSBURGH —
Authorities are investigating after someone allegedly tried to snatch a 15-year-old from the back of a car on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Pittsburgh Police were called to a Sunoco gas station on the 300 block of Cedar Avenue around 12:15 a.m. following reports of an attempted abduction.
A man told authorities his 15-year-old daughter was in the backseat of their car while he was inside the convenience store.
The father said an unknown man opened the back door of the car and tried to grab his daughter.
The 15-year-old’s leg was scratched in the incident but was otherwise unharmed.
Officials say they searched the area but were unable to find a suspect.
An investigation into the attempted abduction is ongoing.
