Jeffrey Bernard Dombrowski, age 51, of Franklin, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 10, 2026, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. He was born in Erie on Dec. 14, 1974, a son of the late Bernard and Geraldine (Zawistowski) Dombrowski.
Jeff graduated from McDowell High School and attended Edinboro University. Prior to his health issues, he worked at Applebee’s and various other restaurants throughout the Erie area.
While health challenges confined him to Sugar Creek Care Center in Franklin for several years, he remained a true inspiration to his family, friends, and caregivers. He faced his difficult circumstances with a remarkably positive attitude and a great sense of humor.
Known to his many friends as “JD”, Jeff was an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. He also loved pro wrestling, gaming, and movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Evelyn Dombrowski; his maternal grandparents, Walter and Helen Zawistowski; his cousin, A. Stephen Picardo, III; and his uncle, Richard Dombrowski.
