WYOMING — The iconic Victory Pig pizza shop property along Wyoming Avenue is now for sale — nearly two years after the fourth-generation owner announced the business might close.
After the owner’s announcement in October 2024, the legendary business remained open.
On Monday, a real estate firm listed the business at 905 Wyoming Ave. for sale for $799,000.
The famous pizza recipe is being sold separately, but no price was listed on the real estate listing by Crossin Real Estate.
“Location! Location! Location!,” the listing said about the one-acre property across from the Midway Shopping Center.
“According to the sellers, they are going to try to keep operating while it’s being sold,” the listing agent Ken Bond said Monday.
Jim Mirabelli, who runs NEPA Pizza Review, which has more than 61,000 followers online, said the founders of Victory Pig were trendsetters generations ago.
“Victory Pig deserves recognition as the birthplace of NEPA’s pan-fried Sicilian pizza, a local style that has grown into one of our region’s defining foods with dozens of pizzerias in Luzerne County and beyond tracing their lineage back to the original,” Mirabelli said. “Few restaurants have had a greater influence on NEPA’s pizza culture or left a legacy that continues to shape what we eat today. I hope that legacy can continue on in some meaningful way so future generations can enjoy.”

In addition to the sale of the property and recipe, the owner is selling the restaurant’s liquor license.
After rumors surfaced in October 2024 that the business would close, Victory Pig fans from all over visited for what they thought would be one last pilgrimage to stock up on the famous pan-fried pizza.
On the day the rumored closing hit social media, vehicle after vehicle kept pulling in, overwhelming the lone waitress performing the shop’s trademark curbside service. The dining room had been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Richard Ceccoli, the fourth-generation owner, confirmed the business was closing while boxing pizza orders as fast as he could inside the restaurant’s kitchen.
“I hate to say it, but we are. It’s in the near future,” Ceccoli said at the time.

In October 2024, a real estate listing for the property noted it was for sale for $1.2 million, with the furniture, fixtures, equipment and its liquor license being sold separately. The listing said the property was “under contract.” It’s not immediately clear why the deal was never finalized.
Ceccoli’s grandparents, Louis and Lee Ceccoli, opened Victory Pig in 1942 as a barbecue restaurant specializing in pork sandwiches, hence the official name it long carried, “Victory Pig Pizza & Barbecue.”
As the story goes, years after opening the barbecue joint, Lee Ceccoli brought her Italian immigrant husband four cuts of pizza for lunch one day and he sold them for a nickel each to curious people who never heard of pizza before.
That launched the Victory Pig pizza craze that has lasted until now.
Wyoming Mayor Joe Dominick said the future sale will be an end of an era.
“I would like to extend best wishes to the Ceccoli family on their upcoming retirement and thank them for their years of business in Wyoming Borough,” Dominick said Monday. “I look forward to seeing what vision the next owner will have for the property.”
