Pennsylvania, federal officials to announce ‘major healthcare fraud takedown’
PHILADELPHIA —
Federal and Pennsylvania officials will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. today to announce what authorities describe as a significant healthcare fraud takedown and a district wide anti-fraud initiative.

U.S. Attorney David Metcalf of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania will be joined by Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday; and Colin McDonald, assistant attorney general with the Justice Department’s National Fraud Enforcement Division.
Other scheduled speakers include Scott Brady, executive director of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud; Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General T. March Bell; FBI Philadelphia Special Agent in Charge Wayne Jacobs; and representatives from the HHS Office of Inspector General, Drug Enforcement Administration and IRS Criminal Investigation.
Officials have not yet released details about the alleged fraud, including the number of people or organizations involved.
