The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO recently endorsed Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti’s campaign for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th District against Congressman Rob Bresnahan. This major endorsement follows a wave of support this month from several unions and labor groups as worker support continues to grow behind Cognetti’s campaign to clean up corruption in Washington and fight for northeastern Pennsylvania.

“We are proud to support Paige Cognetti in her campaign for Congress. This endorsement is a vote of confidence and a recognition that she understands what matters to Pennsylvania’s working families,” said Angela Ferritto, president of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO. “We back candidates who will prioritize the issues driving our members: fair pay and benefits, retirement security, equal treatment for women, safe workplaces, strong public schools and civil rights, to name a few. We trust Paige will fight for these priorities in Congress to deliver an economy that works for all Pennsylvanians.”
