A Harborcreek Township man facing multiple animal cruelty-related charges entered a guilty plea on Aug. 4 in Erie County Court of Common Pleas, according to court records.
Roy King, 63, of Erie, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. He was sentenced to 9 to 18 months in prison on each count, with the sentences to be served consecutively.
The charges stem from an incident reported in March 2026 and were filed following an investigation by Pennsylvania State Police in Erie County.
The dog at the center of the case, Mimi, was found abandoned and zip-tied. Blood flow in her legs was restricted and she was covered in sores.
Thanks to the care she received at The ANNA Shelter, Mimi recovered and regained the ability to walk.
