If you’ve seen cameras and crews around the Lehigh Valley, there’s a reason — a local filmmaker and actor is working with his daughter on their next picture.
“Men of Granite” has been filming this summer in the Lehigh Valley. The film was announced online back in April by Bethlehem native Daniel Roebuck through his nonprofit entertainment company A Channel of Peace. He is the film’s co-writer and co-director alongside his daughter Grace.
“Four grumpy Vietnam vets from different branches of the military work together as the honor guard at a memorial cemetery,” according to a film synopsis on the A Channel of Peace website. “Their lives are turned upside down when a 19 year-old is forced to do community service at the cemetery.”
Filming began July 20 and has included locations such as Hotel Bethlehem, Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering, Sine’s 5 & 10 in Quakertown and The Union Cemetery in Hellertown.
“Men of Granite,” scheduled to show in theaters Veteran’s Day in 2027, follows other films of Roebuck’s such as “Saint Nick of Bethlehem” and “The Hail Mary.”
