Logistics Plus, Inc., is celebrating its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of growth from a small startup in Erie, Pennsylvania, to an international enterprise operating in more than 55 countries.
Founded in 1996 by entrepreneur Jim Berlin, Logistics Plus began with a single $120,000 purchase order from GE Transportation Systems and a small team determined to build a customer-focused logistics company.
Today, the company has grown into a nearly $1 billion business with approximately 2,000 employees worldwide, offering services that include transportation management, warehousing and fulfillment, project logistics, international freight forwarding, and proprietary technology solutions.
Headquartered in the historic Union Station building in downtown Erie, a landmark the company helped restore and revitalize, Logistics Plus has maintained strong ties to its hometown while expanding its presence across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and other global markets. The company serves clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations across a wide range of industries.
The anniversary celebration comes during a significant period of transition and growth for the company. In May, Logistics Plus announced the promotion of Yuriy Ostapyak to chief executive officer.
Recent industry recognition has further highlighted the company’s success. Logistics Plus has been ranked among the top transportation and logistics providers by industry organizations, earned Great Place to Work® certification for nine consecutive years, and maintains SOC 2 Type II certification for its customer-facing technology platforms.
To commemorate the milestone, Logistics Plus has launched a dedicated 30th anniversary website featuring company milestones, a commemorative video, and tributes to employees and business partners who have contributed to its success over the past three decades. The company also plans to host a special employee celebration in Erie on August 22.
As Logistics Plus marks 30 years in business, company leaders say the focus remains on innovation, customer service, and the values that transformed a small Erie-based operation into a global logistics leader.
