BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. – Police say two people were seriously injured after the sedan they were in collided with a parked vehicle in Northampton County.
Bethlehem Township Police say they responded to the report of a crash in the 2900 block of Jefferson Street around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers found a black sedan with two people inside, both with significant life-threatening injuries, township police said in a Facebook post.
Police said it was determined that the sedan was traveling east on Jefferson Street at an excessive rate of speed. The sedan collided with a parked vehicle in the 2900 block of Jefferson Street, police said.
Township police said the sedan spun off the roadway on the north side of the street and came to rest in the front yard of a home.
The impact of the collision caused the parked vehicle to roll approximately 200 feet down the roadway, leave the roadway on the north shoulder and collide with a third vehicle that was parked in a residential driveway, according to township police.
Police said the 20-year-old driver and 19-year-old passenger, who were not wearing passenger seat belts, had life-threatening injuries.
Both were brought to a local hospital for treatment.
Nobody else was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
