Keep the umbrella nearby! Scattered showers & high humidity continue across south central Pennsylvania
We’re in for a warm and humid stretch, with a daily chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Good afternoon,
As a low-pressure system passes across Delmarva, a few showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. Mainly dry weather is expected this evening.
We are not under an outlook for severe weather today. The main threat from these showers and storms is brief, heavy rain, thanks to higher humidity. Dew points will climb to the low 70s, and highs will reach the low 80s.
Tonight, the sky will partially clear. Patchy fog is possible, and it will be warm and muggy. Expect low temperatures in the low 70s.
IMPACT THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Thursday will be partly sunny, warmer, and more humid. Highs will reach the upper 80s with dew points in the low 70s. Scattered thunderstorms will develop, mainly in the afternoon and evening. The Susquehanna Valley is in a marginal risk for severe weather, meaning a few storms could produce damaging wind gusts. Heavy rain is possible in all storms.
Friday will be a rinse-and-repeat forecast. We are not currently under an outlook for severe weather, but we will see storms that could produce locally heavy rainfall Friday afternoon and evening. Highs will reach the upper 80s and humidity will be soupy.
We have another round of afternoon and evening thunderstorms Saturday, although coverage might not be as high as Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will remain consistent in the upper 80s, and humidity will remain high. Heavy rain is the biggest threat from storms.
Drier days are in store Sunday and Monday, but isolated thunderstorms can’t be ruled out. Highs will stay in the upper 80s to 90 degrees.
A cold front will approach Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing a chance of showers and storms. Highs will fall to the low-to-mid 80s behind the front, and humidity will drop to more typical levels for this time of the year. Expect dew points in the low-to-mid 60s at the end of the week.
Have a great day!
