What could have been a discouraging moment for volunteers at the Erie Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial Garden instead became a powerful reminder of the community’s generosity and dedication.

After tire and skid marks were recently discovered on the Rainbow Bridge and surrounding patio area, volunteers quickly stepped forward to help restore one of Erie’s most cherished places of remembrance for beloved pets.

The memorial, located on Scott Park Road in Erie, serves as a peaceful destination where families can honor pets they have lost and celebrate the love and memories that remain. Built and maintained entirely through volunteer efforts, the Rainbow Bridge has become a meaningful source of comfort for countless visitors throughout the region.

When the damage was discovered, organizers reached out to the community seeking assistance with cleanup and restoration. The response was immediate.

A special thanks has been extended to Darrell Tolbert and Dan Newcomer, who volunteered their time and hard work to help repair the bridge. What initially appeared to be a simple cleanup effort ultimately required sections of the colorful bridge to be repainted.
