Cheryl Vadala
OBITUARY
Cheryl Vadala, age 82, of Mayfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on August 3, 2026.
She was the devoted wife of Joseph Vadala, with whom she would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 4.
Born on September 27, 1943, in Washington, D.C., Cheryl was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Zeleski) Mannion.
Cheryl was a proud graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Class of 1961. She began her career at Daystrom, now known as Lockheed Martin, before dedicating herself to raising a family with her husband. After raising their three children, she returned to the workforce as a Department Manager at Walmart, where she spent many fulfilling years before retiring in 1999 to embrace her favorite role of all – being a loving grandmother.
The greatest joy of Cheryl’s life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, decorating, and relaxing on her front porch with family and friends. Cheryl had a generous heart and was the person everyone turned to whenever they needed help, comfort, or encouragement. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Vadala; her son, Patrick Vadala and his wife, Christina; her daughter, Marcie Vadala Wormuth; her son, Joseph Vadala and his wife, Marygrace; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha Krisa; Reece Wormuth and her fianc, Brad; Vincent Vadala and his wife, Yana; David Vadala and his fiance, Olivia; Kaycee Vadala; and Tori Wormuth.
She is also survived by her sister, Michele Czyczk and her companion, Fred, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Serge, and her brother, Maurice Mannion.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided Cheryl during the last six months of her life. Their kindness and support brought great comfort to Cheryl and her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 Friday from St Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 until time of Mass. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield.
