The University of Pennsylvania has been ranked sixth nationally in LinkedIn’s Top Colleges 2026 list. This annual ranking of undergraduate institutions is based on graduates’ long-term career outcomes.
Released on Tuesday, Aug. 4, the LinkedIn ranking selects the 50 colleges in the United States that LinkedIn believes best prepare students for postgraduate success based on data from millions of LinkedIn users.
“Most college rankings value prestige, whereas LinkedIn’s Top Colleges list is 100% backed by LinkedIn data looking at career outcomes,” said LinkedIn News senior editor Gianna Prudente in a statement shared with The Daily Pennsylvanian. “The rankings are really a starting point. It’s an opportunity for high school students and recent grads to identify what matters most for them and find the school that matches that.”
Notable skills identified on Penn graduates’ LinkedIn profiles include development tools, scientific computing, and computer-aided design, according to the rankings.
Penn has been a consistent top-10 presence since the 2025 rankings. This year, Penn ranked just behind Princeton University, Duke University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Dartmouth College.
