The second annual Roper Romp has raised more than $2,500 to benefit Berks Encore.
Officials said 57 people dressed as the iconic Mr. and Mrs. Roper from the classic sitcom “Three’s Company” for the event Saturday in West Reading.
The festivities began with brunch at Sly Fox Brewing Company, followed by appetizers at The Barley Mow and dessert at Midtown Sip, Savor & Social.
The fundraising continues as voting is open for the Roper Romp Costume Contest, with winners to be named in the Best Helen and Best Couple/Group categories. Community members can vote by donating $1 per vote in support of their favorites at BerksEncore.org/RoperRomp.
Winners will be announced Aug. 25 during Berks Encore’s Reading Fightin’ Phils morning game.
Funds raised support the organization’s programs and services, including health and wellness initiatives, educational opportunities, social engagement, and other resources to help older adults thrive in their communities.
