Motorcyclist who hit utility pole in Bethlehem dies of his injuries, coroner says | Bethlehem Area

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A 25-year-old motorcyclist who crashed into a utility pole in Bethlehem last week has died of his injuries.

Shane M. Hoffman, of Johnstown, was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a news release.

Buglio said Hoffman veered off the roadway and hit a utility pole on Tuesday, July 28 just after 8:30 p.m. at the 900 block of Pembroke Road.

The cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

Hoffman was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Buglio said.

Buglio said the coroner’s office and the Freemansburg Police Department is investigating the incident.
