A bridge project in Lower Saucon Township will take a little longer than expected.
The township said completion of PennDOT’s replacement of a bridge/culvert on Black River Road between the St. Luke’s Hospice and the Black River Farms development has been pushed back because of a delay in the production and delivery of bridge deck beams.
The goal was to have the job completed by the beginning of the school year, but that won’t be possible, the township said.
“We understand this may impact travel plans and appreciate everyone’s patience as work continues,” Lower Saucon said in an email. “As PennDOT provides additional updates, we will share that information with residents as soon as it becomes available.”
Work on the project began in June.
Traffic will continue to follow a detour that uses Route 378, Hickory Hill Road and Bingen Road.
