Federal inmate convicted of killing cellmate at Pennsylvania prison
A federal inmate at the United States Penitentiary in Canaan, Pennsylvania, has been convicted in the death of his cellmate.

Rudy Mendoza has been housed for much of the last decade at the special housing unit at the penitentiary in Wayne County.
Federal prosecutors said Mendoza’s cellmate was found dead in July 2019, with corrections officers discovering blood throughout the cell.
Mendoza was convicted of voluntary manslaughter, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison.
