READING, Pa. — The Animal Rescue League of Berks County has issued a “Code Red” due to extreme heat.
It will be in place in the city of Reading at various times through Monday, including noon to 6:00 p.m. Friday, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Anyone with a pet dog must bring the dog inside during a Code Red, except for supervised bathroom breaks and exercise.
Animal control officers could take animals left outside in the heat.
